FT Merchandising Specialist 

 

Reports to:     Development Manager 

Status:            Exempt 

 

Overview: 

As the Merchandising Specialist for The Wedding Ring Shop, you will support the merchandising team and Sales team through effective administrative efforts, establishing friendly vendor relationships, and accurately reviewing, verifying, and special orders.  If you are a detail-oriented individual that loves teamwork, values integrity and respect, and has a high-achievement drive, we want you! 

Safety Measures in Store: 

During this pandemic, we are following the guidance from authorities to ensure the safety of our customers and employees which include social distancing, wearing masks, and allowing only customers with appointments in the store. As an extra safety precaution, we installed an air purifier that eliminates viruses and bacteria. We want to spread Aloha, not Covid. 

Essential Functions: 

  1. Manage special orders process which includes ordering merchandise, following-up with vendors, communicating any order issues to sales staff, ensuring timeliness and quality control, and accurately inputting information into the system 

  1. Act as the point of contact with the sales team, office staff, and vendors, updating them on the process of where special orders are; uses CRM system to communicate with sales team.  Follow up on orders to make sure it comes in time for the customers due date.  

  1. Negotiate repair costs that secure the best possible price 

  1. Process online orders using Salesforce and POS systems (training provided), coordinate with customers, sales team, and vendors to ensure accuracy of each order,  

  1. Help with vendor stock balances by pulling merchandise from inventory and preparing items to be shipped back to the vendor. Process paperwork for vendor returns and collect appropriate credits. 

  1. Participate in annual inventory and help with reconciliation process. 

  1. Review and interpret documents including price lists, catalogs, vendor quotes, memos, and invoices 

  1. Digital receiving of incoming items into POS System  

  1. Reprice items in The Edge POS System, retag all items that need to be repriced. 

  1. Create routine reports and correspondences that are timely, relevant, and accurate 

  1. Gather information and provide solutions to optimize merchandising processes 

  1. Assist with store set-up and all Special Events as needed 

  1. Provide excellent service to customers 

  1. Performs other duties as assigned 

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor degree preferred but not required 

  1. At least 2 years of administrative experience or equivalent combination of education and experience 

  1. Must be eligible to work in the U.S. 

  1. Strong organizational and time management skills 

  1. Excellent working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook and ability to work with other programs such as The Edge and Salesforce 

  1. Ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing 

  1. Team-player with a problem-solving mindset that demonstrates the highest level of integrity. 

  1. Strong interpersonal skills and a high emotional intelligence 

  1. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, mark ups, and gross margin 

  1. Flexibility as hours may vary based on the needs of the company 

Physical Demands  

  1. Light to moderate physical effort (lift/carry up to 25 lbs.)  

  1. Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling objects 

  1. Occasional reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, or crouching  

  1. Computer work or constant standing for extended periods of time  

  1. Frequent standing and sitting throughout the day   

Working Conditions  

  1. Air-conditioned retail and office environment 

  1. Frequent exposure to computer monitors  

  1. Typical office environment 

  1. Office hours are 7:30AM – 4:30PM Monday through Friday 

  1. May be asked to work extended and non-traditional hours for Special Events
