Job Summary

The General Manager is responsible for the direct operations of the WRS sales floor to ensure sales goal attainment and profitability. This position through leadership, collaboration, coaching and training, will develop a sales team that delivers on the brand promise of remarkable service while embracing and exhibiting our core competencies. The person in this position must be a dedicated leader with excellent people skills, business acumen and strong work ethic, with the agility to quickly cultivate and maintain healthy relationships with the sales team and internal customers. As the General Manager you must have experience building and maintaining high performing teams, including the ability to recognize and successfully develop rising talent. Recruiting for a top tier sales team is a must. As a spokesperson of The Wedding Ring Shop your commitment to building community relationships will be integral to success of the position.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • Experience building high performing teams, recognizing, and cultivating rising talent, and providing excellent customer service to internal customers
  • Energetic, results oriented and competitive with a drive to succeed
  • Excellent floor awareness to provide an exceptional customer experience.
  • Extensive knowledge in sales floor operations, store security procedures, and showroom merchandising.
  • Ability to motivate, persuade and influence the actions of others daily and through change.
  • Excellent planning, organizational, delegation and follow-up skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret sales reports, operating procedures, and other company communications with the objective to deliver and execute all programs and initiatives.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and data analysis and performance/operations metrics
  • Proficiency with Sales Force (CRM) and Point of Sale (POS) system.
  • Demonstrates the highest level of integrity and exhibits confidentiality in all areas
  • Flexibility working non-traditional hours is essential

Essential Functions

With limited supervision and in accordance with Company procedures and guidelines, this position will include the following:

  • Actively and effectively participate as a member of the Senior Leadership Team and assist in the formulation of the company’s future direction and supporting tactical initiatives.
  • Consistently demonstrates a passion for values alignment, focus, simplicity, and clarity across the organization.
  • Regularly and consistently meet with the President/Owner to review department and individual performance and create plans for improvement. Utilizing the Visionary’s ideas as a base line develop strategies and action plans that support and achieve the company’s Strategic and Operating Business Plans including department revenue, gross profit, CRM, recruiting, retention, training, and expense budgets as they are needed.
  • Execute business plans and strategic initiatives to achieve company goals and P&L objectives.
  • Develop clear objectives and standards of performance for his/her department and direct reports that result in the consistent achievement of department initiatives and expectations.
  • Use continuous performance management to develop a high-performing team and improve employee recruitment and retention
  • Provide employees with opportunities for professional growth and maximize their talent through performance review and development
  • Lead, manage and hold direct reports accountable for achieving agreed-upon commitments.
  • Maintain professional work environment and appropriately address associate performance and Human Resource issues in accordance with Federal, State and Local guidelines and laws.
  • Manage Sales Team, Jeweler, and Workshop driving the business Profit Center.
  • Oversee Merchandising Department.
  • Cultivate and manage healthy relationships with Internal customer strategic partners
  • Oversee Sales Floor daily operations and adjust as necessary. Maintain a high degree of sales floor awareness using TO and brainstorms and interact with customers as needed, on behalf of his/her direct reports, to finalize sales transactions and achieve department objectives.
  • Handle customer concerns professionally and in a timely manner so they are fully resolved and enhance The Wedding Ring Shop’s reputation.
  • Actively promote the company and enhance its reputation through community and industry involvement as needed.
  • Consistently recruit, interview, and hire to ensure the department is fully staffed with top talent.

Physical Demands

  1. Light to moderate physical effort (lift/carry up to 25 lbs.)
  2. Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling objects
  3. Occasional reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, or crouching
  4. Computer work or constant standing for extended periods of time
  5. Frequent standing and sitting throughout the day

Working Conditions

  1. Air-conditioned retail and office environment
  2. Frequent exposure to computer monitors
  3. Sufficient noise and interruptions to cause distraction
  4. May be asked to work extended and non-traditional hours
